Yeah, Bethesda usually has a hit or miss with their DLC, but their hits are usually very very strong, so I'm not done with Skyrim just yet. I think if you have exhausted everything in Skyrim and you are desperate for more missions you will get something out of this but I wouldn't call it essential content. I did like the new enemy types though, armoured trolls and gargoyles looked great and were fun to fight. Overall this DLC is a bit disappointing after such a rich experience with Skyrim storylines and questing. This would be okay but the whole questing down there is one big fetch mission with teleporters and the quest markers are either bugged or purposefully missing a linking step because I was down there for HOURS Hex, and totally lost and very frustrated that I ended up just giving up and quitting. It's a dark catacomb of tunnels that require your vampire sight on at all times. I wanted to finish it but when I got to the 'darkfalls passage' things got frustrating. But that's where I put this DLC down Hex. I also enjoyed a battle with two dragons that plunged into the ice around me. There are a couple of nice new areas and moments though, one in particular feels very empty, but is quite spectacular with lighting and lots of ghost around, and it's heaven for collecting soul gems. You just have to wait for 24 hours to get the ability, but you're not explained how that works very well at all. For example, one needs you to use a vampire power, but if you've fed recently, you don't have it available to you because you get more powerful and more powers the longer you go without feeding. There's a few rough edges to the quests too. You play this awesome powerful vampire but it's pretty ugly, he has wings but they're so tiny and wimpy you can't even fly with them, you just do this weird ground glide. I think it's more fun than being a werewolf Hex, but it's still just as awkward to move around and not practical if you have good gear already. So it was a real shame that we didn't get to experiment with that skill tree much.Ä«asically in vampire form, you can hover, raise the dead and shoot fireballs and you can also do a melee attack. The other downside if you're high level is you won't be able to put as many points into the vampire skill tree because you get those points when you level, and you level MUCH slower the higher you are. I didn't find one piece of loot worth equipping, or even picking up, just left it on the ground.

But the problem is, this DLC starts at level 10, so I think if you're a lower level like that you'll have a good time, but I'm level 40 now, I am pimped out! Full dragonscale, even my enchants have enchants! I didn't drop below 95% health once, and I think that will happen to a lot of Skyrimers out there. Your main companion Serana can be a bit over the top some of the time but I thought she was a good companion.

I think there's enough story and intrigue in the story line to pull you through. But not everyone on their side wants that to happen. You end up travelling with her to a typical Dracula castle, and agree to become a vampire lord! As the plot unravels you uncover the vampires plans to block out the sun. But on your first mission you meet a trapped vampire who has an elder scroll, um can I have that? You don't have to become a vampire and go down that quest line but the lure of the damned was too strong for us. The Dawnguard are a group determined to wipe out the vampires. Ok, I'll go say hello to the Dawnguard people, just stop going on about it! And as soon as I got into town, absolutely everyone was going on about Dawnguard, Dawnguard this, Dawnguard that. The complex interactions of Skyrim's inhabitants always surprises me! There were some pretty serious fines to pay too before I could get my DLC going, because when I quit Skyrim, I quit on a bit of a rampage, but It wasn't long before I was kicking cutlery around like old times. But the moment I stepped back into this world, immediately I started getting distracted in the world and harassing NPCS. Yes and I wasn't sure if I'd be interested at all in its DLC Hex because I've spent over 90 hours in the game now and the idea of forking out 1600 points for another 10-12 isn't that appealing. Yeah me too Bajo, it was a perfect game to see us through the holidays at the end of last year. Spoiler warning, we will be talking about and showing some early story stuff here. First up, Skyrim Dawnguard.Äawnguard, can be accessed if you're level 10 or higher. Skyrim and Batman Arkham City, two of our favourite games from last year have had their first bits of DLC so we thought we'd take a look.
